I kinda like the “Touch My Body” song off that CD, but don’t know if I’ll buy it. I like Mariah’s “Break Down” song the best off an old album — great and honest and moving lyrics about heartbreak and feelings.

Mariah’s also supposed to show Oprah something secret — another crazy amazingly large closet, perhaps?

Nah…let’s hope it’s something greater and more meaningful.

Beautiful Boy

David Sheff is the dad, who wrote an article titled “My Addicted Son” for the New York Times Magazine.

That piece got such an amazing response, Sheff later wrote the Beautiful Boy book further detailing his nightmarish obsession with his son Nick, who first got drunk at age 11.

Nick spiraled down into a horrible crystal meth addiction that led him to sell his body for sex, steal from his little brother’s piggy bank and more.

In and out of rehab five times, Nick has been clean and sober for about 2 or 3 years now. Praise God!

(Watching the Oprah show about drug addiction, I kept thinking of Helen Baylor’s cocaine testimony and how her grandmother fasted — drinking only water for two weeks — and prayed and the Lord set Helen free from horrible drug addictions.)

Tweak

Nic Sheff has written his own memoir called Tweak, which — in light of the James Frey A Million Little Pieces (of lies) debacle — Oprah made sure to read the foreword stating that Tweak was Nic’s best recollection of what happened when he was on drugs.

You couldn’t help but fall in love with Nic and his dad, especially as David recounted the horror of not knowing where his son was for so many nights.

Of how he walked the streets and neglected his new wife and little children during his complete obsession with finding Nic.

Of how he begged Nic to come get in the car with him when Nic looked like the “walking dead” one day.

And I just loved Nic for his complete honesty over how low he sank.

I’m so glad these two are doing okay now.

There’s this 19 minute plus long video on Oprah’s video page showing Oprah’s After the Show about A New Earth.

In the video, Oprah keeps saying she’s a Christian, but then goes on to directly contradict Scripture in saying that Christians misinterpreted Jesus to think His way is the only Way.

I’ve railed about the direct anti-Christian themes in A New Earth before, and pray that Oprah really gets a revelation from Father God about the Bible verses where Rabboni does in fact say He is the only way to God:

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

Of course love is the highest commandment.

Of course we should be understanding and seek to learn about other belief systems.

Of course people do crazy things in His holy name that shouldn’t be done.

But let’s straighten out exactly what the Savior said, and lead people to heaven, away from hell.

Also on Oprah’s New Earth show, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy talk about their views of A New Earth in a new video on Oprah’s video page.

“…let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12

Oprah’s website put up a new video on the Oprah Show about Whitney Cerak and Laura Van Ryn, two women involved in a case of mistaken identity.

Whitney Cerak’s family and friends were told she died, and they even had a large funeral for her before finding out that she was still alive.

Billy Joel not really opening up to Oprah…

…on one of these Oprah videos with Billy Joel — maybe it’s on this one Oprah asks Joel about his drinking problem and car crashes, but I found him to be stunted and closed off.

Calling his trio of car crashes in two years just a run of “bad luck,” Billy Joel seemed pretty closed off — giving short answers.

You could tell there was much more to the story.

Billy did admit to going to rehab, which was like a jail in that they put him in the “drunk tank” with all the other drunks to dry out and that was that.

I still LOVE his music. Just the other day whilst making my bed I sang in my head:

“It’s better than drinking alone…”

Billy and Katie Lee Joel on the age difference

Katie Lee seemed really bubbly and happy, and she demonstrated how to make a pretty easy-looking meatloaf that she says Billy Joel loves to eat.

They love to have dinner parties, something I love too, and am inspired to have more of.

Maybe I should buy her book, The Comfort Table, and get to cooking.

Katie Lee said she’s more mature for her 27 years (Is Katie Lee 27 yet? Oh my goodness, she was born in 1981…) and Billy’s less mature than his almost 59 years (born in 1949) — so they meet somewhere in the middle.

I couldn’t help but wonder what life will be like when they want to have kids, but I guess they’ll be fine.

Heck — my dad was 48 when I was born…so…well…Billy’s older than that, but there you go…

God bless ‘em.

That’s because Peter gave an interesting assessment that many times after he decluttered someone’s house — they lost weight.

I’m all for that.

I hate clutter anyway.

Drew Barrymore was on Oprah (watch the video) giving a $1 million check to the World Food Programme.

Drew’s passion for helping to feed starving children in Africa was evident in her excitement, and her description of how it takes two years or more to become an ambassador.

Cameron Diaz called in to Oprah…

…while her best friend Drew Barrymore was presenting the $1 million check, and I kinda thought Cameron was going to announce that she, too, was donating money to WFP.org — but she didn’t.

Perhaps Diaz prefers to give quietly and just wanted to support her friend.

Accompanying Drew was her new boyfriend, Justin Long, the guy my husband and I always remember from The Break-Up.

They make a cute and caring couple.

And I love that Drew Barrymore doesn’t seem too Hollywoodish at all…

Oprah video of her teaching “A New Earth” class coming soon…

In this video, Oprah explains why she chose “A New Earth” — a book by Eckhart Tolle — to teach online.

My copy of “A New Earth” arrived on Saturday, and I’ve already made it thru the first chapter.

And while in contains “interesting” concepts, as the author said some would call the book — I’ve slammed it down and around this morning and have highlighted some obvious anti-Christian passages — it also contains out and out lies about Jesus.

Is Oprah’s “A New Earth” Really New Age and Anti-Christian Fluff?

Anyway, here’s the passage in “A New Earth” on page 6 that pissed me off the most:

“…Jesus, and others…were humanity’s early flowers…and their message became largely misunderstood…It certainly did not transform human behavior except in a small minority of people.”

I’d beg to differ that the Savior, the Christ of God, didn’t transform human behavior (and our eternal destinations) in a major way.

Just wait till I’m sitting on Oprah’s couch detailing how much Yeshua changed my horrible, slutty human behavior as she reads page upon page from my upcoming memoir.

Yes there are still horrible things that happen on this planet — some in the name of God — but just imagine the post-tribulation world apart from the Creator…

The all-roads-lead-to-God “A New Earth” lie

Actually, beyond that, the biggest lie Oprah is spreading (and cloaking it in the name of Christianity with books like this that contain so much Scripture) is that all roads lead to God.

A deacon at my church had already told me she heard Oprah say from her own mouth that she didn’t believe Jesus was the only path to God — as the Messiah says He is — so I searched for the video and found Oprah saying she doesn’t believe Christ is the only way.

Eckhart Tolle bears witness to a similar New Age believe system when he writes on page 16 of “A New Earth” that:

“Throughout history, there have always been rare individuals who…realized within themselves that toward which all religions point.”

He calls this a universal “nonconceptual Truth,” implying that all religions point to the true and living God.

I love Oprah, but the anti-Christian themes she’s espoused lately leads me to agree with this video of a Christian who says Oprah is leading people to hell.

So I found that for those of us who may miss the “A New Earth” 10-week course that starts Monday, March 3rd, iTunes has free podcast episodes of A New Earth online.

Also, I just checked Oprah’s website page about the “A New Earth” course webcast(but I didn’t download the media player for “A New Earth” yet) to see if she has any full-length videos up of the course.

There are some redeeming qualities in the “A New Earth” book — ones that may or may not propel me to read beyond the first chapter — if anything to continue my “new calling” to examine misleading concepts contained in “A New Earth” against the real Truth of the Bible itself — just none of these crystal-flower-bird theories are worth the confusion it may cause people unaware of Christ’s words:

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

Of course, Eckhart Tolle and Oprah might just brand me as one of the so-called “religious people” stuck in old ideas. And granted, I understand dogma and Pharisee-like religiosity and behaviors that need changing.

“Everybody talkin’ ’bout heaven ain’t going there,” sang Mahalia Jackson rightly.

And I fully know that some of the puffed-up holier-than-thou people talking about God don’t all contain the love of God within.

But calling Christ your Savior — or just a great teacher, and therefore a liar when He says He died to save us all — that’s a HUGE difference that Oprah needs to get settled in her own Spirit.

Jesus said to him, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

Untruths cannot go on forever.

To whom is Oprah beholden?

What pastor?

Which Christian church does Oprah attend?

Is it still Trinity United Church of Christ with Barack Obama or somewhere else?

I’m curious…

I keep hearing the lyrics of that Prince song in my head that goes:

Anti-Christian, Anti-Christ
Until you’re crucified
I’ll live my life in taxi-cabs…
Liar, liar, liar

Heck, instead of “A New Earth,” Oprah needs to be preaching people away from 23 Minutes [or a lifetime] in Hell.
